How to Solve CPU Overheating Problem

There are many ways on how to solve CPU overheating problems. CPU Overheating caused by a temperature problem is definitely a bad sign as it can destroy the processor and can cause instabilities in the hardware of the system. This can lead to it rebooting as well. The temperature of the processor depends on the brand and model type and one should be aware of it to avoid inadvertent problems. This can be done in several ways, like accessing BIOS set up or through software like CoreTemp. To avoid CPU overheating due to the temperature problems, it is imperative to take suitable measures to cool down both the processor and the PC.

CPU Overheating problem is one thing that most of computer users face. There are several causes for CPU Overheating. Below are some of the effective solutions to considerably solve CPU overheating?

 

1. Stop Overclocking your CPU 

These days the manufacturers of CPU do give importance to overclocking. But rarely people notice that overclocking can actually increase the heat of the processor. Overclocking must be only tried when you have a perfect cooling system in your computer

3. Clean the Processor fan, Heat Sink, and other peripherals 

Dust is the first villain of electronic devices. No matter how good the dustproof room you are in, your CPU fan and heat sink would catch up a pile of dust. This is totally unavoidable. However, you can clean the CPU in a frequent basis. A clean CPU will increase the airflow to the processor and reduce the CPU temperature to normal.

 

4. Check your SMPS 

As I mentioned earlier supplying a lower voltage to the CPU may reduce the CPU fan speed, SMPS power unit may be damaged sometimes, giving a lesser voltage than the actually required amount. So check your SMPS for normal Voltage Supply. There are two symptoms of this, Firstly the CPU restarts often and secondly you can notice your Fan Speed going down.

 

5.Use High-Speed fans   

THE CPU Fan must at least spin at a rate of 3000 RPM, in order to ensure good cooling for a normal PC. Older CPC Fans range from around 2500 RPM to a higher rate. 7.Use proper ventilation in your room   

Last but not least, use proper ventilation in your room, especially if you are not in an air-conditioned room. In a Non-AC room make sure you keep at least one window open, else either you or your computer will die of Carbon dioxide choking.

8.Use Additional Cooling Units

A good gamer is not one who only chooses the best processor and Graphics Unit, but also one who protects it by adding a suitable cooling unit. These days you get liquid cooling units for a cheaper price. Consider using any of these to keep your CPU temperature normal.

 

9.Shut down your computer at least two hours a day

The easiest way on how to solve CPU overheating is to simply shut it down. Be in whatever field you are, and for whatever purpose you use the computer, make sure you leave it shut down for at least 2 to 3 hours a day.

10. Correct Airflow 

Choosing the right case is critical for avoiding computer overheating. As hot air has a natural trend to move upwards, the hot air produced by the computer automatically flows to the upper part of the case. The power supply’s fan then draws out this hot air, thus providing proper computer ventilation. Cool air automatically comes in through the case’s front via a suitable slot placed under the space intended for the hard disk.
