Eat Healthy Food And Stay Fit Always With These 10 Tips

Eating is part of our daily existence. How our body systems work, the changes that occur in our bodies, for instance growth are connected with the kind of food we eat. Many people eat just because they feel like eating. But if you must eat, you must learn that art of eating healthy food.

Healthy food provides in your body the necessary nutrients that your body needs to create new cells, clean toxins, and to just function every day. Healthy food that you eat now can help prevent future diseases such as diabetes and cancer. When you eat healthy food, you help yourself with more energy and as well make you alert and fit.

See below how you can eat healthy food and maintain good fitness

1. Eat more of nutrient rich foods

When making your daily food selection, you should include bread and other whole-grain products like barley, brown rice, millet, oatmills ; fruits like grape fruits, lime, orange, strawberries, apples; vegetables like spinach, carrots, broccoli, peas, tomatoes; dairy products like cottage cheese, regular yogurt, Low-fat chocolate milk; and meat, poultry, fish and other protein foods.

2. Consume moderate portions

Eating moderately is a very important aspect of eating healthy. A clenched fist is about a cup — and a cup is the amount experts recommend for a portion of pasta, rice, cereal, vegetables, and fruit.

You may need to reduce the portion of meat you eat per meal to be about the size of your palm as well as limit the amount of added fats (like butter, mayo, or salad dressing) to the size of the top of your thumb.

3. Eat your meals regular

Some people think skipping meals can help them loss weight, but this is not always the case because skipping meals can lead to out-of-control hunger, often causing them to over-eat.

When hunger knocks at the door, it’s  usually tempting to forget about good nutrition at that moment. So snacking between meals can help manage hunger, but ensure that you don’t eat so much that your snack becomes an entire meal. If you must snack, snack on healthy foods.

4. Reduce, but do not eliminate certain foods

You can work on reducing the consumption of certain foods for example carbs, but you should never cut out any food type. The dietary guidelines recommend that carbs provide 45 to 65 percent of your daily calorie intake. Your body requires carbs and many other variety of foods, so ensure that you eat a balanced meal not necessarily cutting out a kind of food from you meal.

5. Maintain a healthy weight

Eating healthy food and knowing exactly the size of the different nutrients to eat is very key to curbing being overweight or obese. You should always be in the know of what weight is right for you, and that is dependent on many factors such as your sex, height, age and heredity.

When your body has excess fat, it increases the chances of developing high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, some types of cancer and other illnesses.

6. Drink lots of water

The importance of drinking enough water can never over emphasized, and most people don’t drink enough water as they should. On a day to day basis, you should not be drinking anything less than 2 litres of water per day. So try to keep a refillable water with you at all times and keep refilling it.

7. Avoid eating 3-4 hours before your bedtime

You should  ensure that the food you eat before bedtime digests properly and so you should avoid eating 3-4 hours before you go to bed. This is because at bedtime the body becomes a lot idle. If you eat almost bedtime your body won’t burn off those calories and your body will consequently store most of the fat in the food in your system. So its better to stop eating a few hours before going to sleep so you can burn off the food you ate before you go to sleep.

8. Ascertain your diet pitfalls

One of the ways to improve your eating habits, is to first of all get to know if there are things that are wrong with the way you eat. Make a note of everything you eat at least for three days. Then check your list following best known healthy food plans.

9. Seek to improve digestion

Drink commensurable quantity of water after your meal. If you eat food that have oil in it, I rather advocate you take hot water or tea to enhance your digestion.

Include a few servings of fruits like raspberries, apples, figs, bananas, prunes, avocados for digestion in your daily diet is an easy and effective way to keep things moving smoothly through your digestive tract.

10. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day

Exercise is very HUGE when it comes to staying fit. You should be exercising at least 30 minutes, 3-4 times a week and you should be doing up to 40 minutes of cardio, to get your heart up and running.

If you can’t find time to go to the gym then try to incorporate exercise as part of your day. See my top 10 best home exercise machines for weight loss.
